The first thing that was on the minds of many Americans today was the inaguration of the first African-American President Barack Hussein Obama. Honestly- I was afraid someone would attempt to assassinate him; thankfully, no one did. I did however noticed that there were high caliber sniper rifles ready and willing to take out any potential threat to the new president.
Moving from that, I actually teared up a bit when I watched the whole thing live. The speech was probably the best I've ever heard in a long time. I wish this man the very best in his four-year journey.
On a more personal note-- I get to say four words that I've waited eight years to say; Former President George Bush!! Woohoo! No more! He's out! FINALLY... I watched a lot of Comedy Central recently and noticed that he was on a lot of national news programs such as CNN
This I found interesting; but yeah, so were a lot of other public address by this man. I do not hate Bush, I can understand that being the leader of the free world is stressful-- he's just... narrowminded at times. He's not evil; sure there were family issues, political scams, conspiracy watches, but what president doesn't have this? But the only thing I just disliked about him was how he approached his discions-- for the record, I still stood at attention and refered to him as "Honorable George W. Bush" when I was in Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.
By the way, this is my favorite parody: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/184841
Leaves me to think how far comedians may go with their parodies about Obama.
Ugh-- I wish I went to the party, but I finally got my sleep schedule back on track; just required staying up and doing something that would keep me awake and resisting the temptation of a soft... warm... soothing pillow... GAH... I'm still not 100% yet-- nevertheless, I went to get contacts today... well my perscription; yet again, it's my fault my Dad messed up my first appointment, it's my fault I have night classes and I have an obscure schedule from what I am used to... ok, so I partied some- big deal... I'm 21... sue me >.> I get out more than my brother has ever done... but yeah, the whole ordeal went by smoothly.
Heh- this one elderly woman saw my hair and looked at me and noticed how sleepy I was and asked if I was high. Ha! Heh-heh...
School is all right today, everyone is pretty friendly to help you with something and not give you "I have to watch my kids because my lazy baby's daddy is out with some hoochie." ...yes, I did hear that when I attended Pierce, but it's so~ relaxed here. I am learning the trade easily and I follow whatever I need to do.
So yeah, more to come in the long run-- I may rent a camcorder so I can post video messages for my blog; videos are coming soon!
